Social welfare organization Keeping in line with the objectives of the organization, in recent years ABWU has been working for the prevention of Immoral Traffic of women and children by:

• Giving shelter to the women and children in moral danger who would otherwise have become the prey of traffickers;
• Undertaken in 1986-1990 a UNIFEM-UNDP funded project for:
1) Surveying the main red light areas of Kolkata, and
2) Rehabilitating 25 victims of Immoral Traffic.
• Participating from 1998 in a group of NGOs of West Bengal, India and Bangladesh supported by UNICEF for the prevention of traffic and sexual exploitation of children in both the countries. It is a member of ATSEC (Action Against Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children) and works towards the prevention of cross border trafficking of children.
